Mark Leiter is Chairman of Leiter & Company, a strategy consulting and investment firm.
His specialty is improving the performance of large, global Business-to-Business (B2B) organizations.
During his career, Mark has worked with over 150 organizations across two dozen industry sectors, including numerous Fortune 500 corporations. His core substantive expertise extends from corporate and business-unit strategy design through to crafting strategic communications. He has shaped pivotal strategy debates and decisions as a consultant, operating executive, board member, and capital investor.
Mark recently served as Chief Strategy Officer for Nielsen, an S&P 500 information services company. He was a member of the CEO’s senior leadership team and the firm’s executive council. Prior to his appointment as Chief Strategy Officer, he served as a corporate Executive Vice President and in multiple division President roles. Prior to joining Nielsen, Mark spent 18 years as a strategy consultant including roles at Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company, and Capgemini Ernst & Young.
Mark is a Distinguished Strategy Fellow at The Conference Board, where he serves on the firm’s Global Advisory Council. He is a Trustee of The Committee for Economic Development. Mark serves on the Board of Directors of The Save the Music Foundation and InMoment. He is a Partner at Pereg Ventures, a capital firm that primarily invests in early-stage B2B information services ventures.
He was a research fellow at Harvard Business School, holds an M.A. from Harvard University (1989) and a B.A., summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany (1985). Beyond his business life, he is a jazz musician who plays soprano, alto and tenor sax while playing with an eclectic collection of guitars, drums and even a few cowbells!
