Jason Ve

President, PAPER
Jason Ve is the President of PAPER, the leading culture media brand at the forefront of music, fashion, and internet culture. A media executive with a track record of driving growth across the music, entertainment, and tech industries, Jason was named a Billboard 2024 Pride Power Player for his leadership and influence.
Previously, Jason was Senior Vice President and Head of Global Brand Partnerships at 88rising, the pioneering pan-Asian record label and music company, where he built the commercial brands business from the ground up into a key global revenue engine, forging partnerships with many of the world’s leading brands. He has also held senior leadership roles at Deezer, where he led the business development division at the global music streaming unicorn, and at Google, where he oversaw strategic partnerships across music and ad tech. Earlier, Jason held business development roles at Disney and Nickelodeon, and began his career in investment banking at UBS.
Jason advises, consults, and invests in startups. He is a venture partner at Gaingels, the largest investment network and fund of LGBTQ+ investors. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Asian Americans Advancing Justice — AAJC, a national nonprofit dedicated to civil rights and advocacy for Asian Americans. Jason is a speaker and guest lecturer, and a member of the Recording Academy.
Born and raised in New York, Jason resides in Miami and co-founded Out in Tech Miami, a city chapter of the largest LGBTQ+ tech community. He is a graduate of the NYU Stern School of Business and an avid traveler, having visited over 70 countries and lived in China and Japan.
The Music Industry Advisory Board aims to ensure that students have access to a diverse set of successful music professionals, so they are aware that there is more to the industry beyond being on the main stage. Our mission is to close the gap for the next generation of music industry professionals to create a more inclusive and diverse future.
